What Happens During a UTIDOC Visit?

Wondering what to expect? Here's exactly how a UTIDOC visit works, start to finish.

Step 1: Safety Screening (1 minute)

First, we ask a few quick safety questions:

• Pregnancy status - pregnant patients need in-person care
• Medical history - conditions like diabetes, kidney disease, or immunocompromised states require in-person evaluation
• Red flag symptoms - fever, back pain, nausea, or confusion suggest a more serious infection

If any of these apply, we'll let you know immediately and recommend appropriate in-person care. You won't be charged.

Step 2: Symptom Assessment (2 minutes)

Next, you'll tell us about your symptoms:

• Which urinary symptoms you're experiencing (burning, urgency, frequency, etc.)
• Any warning signs that might indicate a more complicated infection
• Your current medications and drug allergies

This information helps our physicians choose the safest, most effective antibiotic for you.

Step 3: Pharmacy Selection & Payment

You'll choose a pharmacy near you where your prescription will be sent. Our system uses your location to show nearby options.

The visit costs $49 - a flat fee that includes:

• Complete physician review of your case
• Prescription if clinically appropriate
• Electronic transmission to your pharmacy

Payment is processed securely through Stripe. We accept all major credit cards, plus FSA and HSA accounts.

Step 4: Physician Review & Prescription

Here's what happens behind the scenes:

1. Our AI system generates a clinical summary of your case
2. A board-certified physician reviews your complete intake, symptoms, allergies, and medications
3. The physician selects the most appropriate antibiotic based on current clinical guidelines and your specific situation
4. Your prescription is sent electronically to your chosen pharmacy
5. You receive an email confirmation with your prescription details

Most patients receive their prescription within 5-15 minutes of submitting their visit.

After Your Visit

• Pick up your medication at your chosen pharmacy (usually available same day)
• Start your antibiotic as directed
• Follow up if symptoms don't improve within 48-72 hours
• We'll send a check-in email a few days after your visit to make sure you're feeling better

What If I'm Not Eligible?

If our screening determines that telehealth treatment isn't safe for your situation, we'll explain why and recommend appropriate in-person care. You won't be charged for the visit.
